The nose is great, with plenty of secondaries and a lot of earth, minerals, some game. On the palate it has that '98 austerity to it - even a little rustic on the finish - and yet goes well with food. You keep thinking it will hit another gear but it just doesn't seem ready right now. This bottle faded a bit at the end but I will again say I think slightly tainted and so there a probably better versions out there. A-
