Friday, May 11, 2012 - Just simply terrific! A bit tight on opening but later reveals a nose of cassis, tobacco (lots of it), oak and earth. Same flavors on the palate with very ripe, sweet, concentrated fruit and a kick of spice and acidity. Big and with lots of structure, but also very, very smooth with a long finish. Flavors and textures like what I would expect from a young, very ripe, fruit-forward, right-bank bordeaux. This wine is dominated by all the rich, ripe fruit, but is not at all overdone. Delicious and will probably improve over the next few years.
