Sunday, October 4, 2015 - Mike G and Berto visit Cleveland (Italian wines)+ (Willoughby, Ohio): This is really in a great place right now. Perhaps not as long lived as some Brunellos, this is at peak now. The nose is open with great cherries, dust, and forest floor notes. There is also this mocha quality that presumably are remnants from what was at one time a modern, oaked BdM. I enjoyed it. On the palate, medium bodied. Layers of dried and fresh cherries with earthy/wet forest. Not a ton of acidity, but enough to carry the food. Nice finish. IIRC, this was available for around $30 shortly after release and that was a great value.
