Sunday, October 22, 2006 - At this point I'm ok with blaming the glass. The wine comes on alive and vibrant after opening the bottle. Primarily red fruits with a hint of smoke, earth, and leather, but it got very simple after fifteen minutes and there was no real complexity to the wine at all. Big fruit but no layers. I acknowledge the fact that the stemware was less than adequate. Shallow bowl and no real room for the aroma to expand. I have tasted this shortly after it was released and expected much more, so I will examine it more carefully next time.
