I had some wine left which I transferred to a small decanter. A few days later the real wine emerged. The colour had darkened and it was noticeably darker with a much richer flavor. I opened two bottles and they both tasted exactly the same. My conclusion is that variation in storage conditions must have accounted for the difference in my experience backed up by the change that occurred after the wine had been opened up for several days. Believe the drinking window on this wine. My cellar is quite cool so my wine is likely developing at a slower pace than the wines that were recently reviewed. I will wait several years before trying another bottle or allow for an extended decant before drinking.
