Friday, February 25, 2022 - 1st of 12, opened 45 minutes then decanted an hour, perfect cork and level - glossy ruby, little development on rim; plum, lightly spiced, earthy minerality, herbal hint, rich, classy and quite complex; med/full, long, reasonably persistent and concentrated, clean and quite glossy, balanced, attractive now but drive to fruit for significant upside, complex for St Emilion, only possible downside indicated by hint of green and herbal edge, 20+ years life ahead. F+ (18).......the market seems to have forgotten the long illustrious record of Canon which was making go to wines in the 60s, 70s and 80s when much St Emilion wasn't worth drinking!
