Friday, February 16, 2018 - Opened a few days ago, drinking a glass or 2 a day, TN is from today.
The color on this 14 yr old BdM shows dark ruby at the core, fading to a medium-intensity rusty-brown color at the rim.
The nose shows off dark chocolate, a hint of green coffee beans, and some deep red and black cherry fruit aromas. Smells a bit kirsch-y, almost syrupy.
The palate reveals a medium-bodied wine with resolving tannins and refreshing acidity, with black and red cherry fruit, raspberry, orange zest, violets, and espresso.
This wine is mature and drinking nicely, and should continue to do so through 2022 or so.
