Friday, September 12, 2014 - Pretty light gold color. Rich, smoky, and impressive. Intense, concentrated and mouth coating without being heavy at all. Superb elegance and very intellectual. A real head turner. I also think the extra 2-1/2 years I've held onto to these since receiving in March 2012 have paid off in better integration of the oak. A complex blend of citrus, tropical and stoniness. Too bad the cool fat btls demand so much space in my snug cabinets or I'd buy this by the case! This wine drinks more like a big house vintage dated $120+ Tete Cuvee than the $50 I paid for it. I looked it up on WS and this can still be bought today for just under $60. 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. Going back for 2-3 more. One of the best values for $60 in Champagne.
