Tuesday, September 22, 2015 - This wine is still in very good condition and it should be, being a 2000. The vintage is excellent and this wine is very good also. The wine is quite dark and concentrated, at least by sight. The nose is very large, Pauillac like, with tobacco, leather and cedar. There is definitely still a lot of life. However, the wine has more size and intensity than fruit. While the secondary flavors are wonderful, it lacks a bit in lushness and fullness of body. It ends up a bit dryer and leaner. I am one who likes austere wine but this one was a bit too much on that side for me. It is still completely pleasure giving but more mid-range body would be better. The body and lushness is a bit short for the very large structure it has.
