Saturday, August 9, 2014 - Outrageous, actually. I kept watching Mike's drinking window, and it didn't shift from "2015," yet it has continued to taste young to me. I kept opening bottles, and they were too oaky, hot and densely unknit. So I gave this one lots of air, and by the end of the third night this was really something special - huge, yet suave, precise and nuanced, with delicious vanilla-laden grapiness. Coarse, rough and wild at first, this is just starting to become civilized. I'd call the drinking window on this "2015 to 2020," but I can see why it's listed as earlier, as the fruit and brawny, savage quality of this is not to be missed. A wonderfully wild beast, and young still. If opening now, give this some air! Wonderfully fun wine, thanks, Mike.
