Wednesday, April 5, 2023 - Double decanted at 10am and brought to lunch with a friend at a Turkish restaurant. This was a deep, dark garnet color with little to no bricking. The nose is very effusive with tobacco, milk chocolate, graphite, black currant, blackberry, scorched earth and lots of other nuances. Smooth and lively on the palate. Very rich, layered and complex. Plenty of new oak influence but well controlled. Moderately long finish. If this is representative, I would say this is nowhere near end of life. Good with lamb kebob.
