Wednesday, December 26, 2012 - Fantastic example of aged Rioja. Tasted alongside a 2001 Reserva Especial, this was a nuch more nuanced and sophisticated beast altogether. Bricking, light-coloured (almost Pinot clarity?). Superb nose of cherries, oak, vanilla, plenty of age-related, woody smells. The taste was everything you could wish for from an aged Rioja. Classic Ardanza.

Just superb, and still plenty of life left in it, the only regret I have is that I've only 1 bottle left.
