Sunday, December 27, 2020 - From a half bottle - cork in perfect shape. Dark ruby colour with a near black core (but not quite). On the nose upon opening, glorious bouquet. Pure blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, black grape skins, chocolate, balsam, smoke, ink and faint mint. On the palate, the attack is frank, tannic (still "pointy" tannins), somewhat drying, but lifted with a nice acidity and the fruit and other aromas as found on the nose with a good length. Tongue coating, but in a good way - a good density and concentration without being over the top and it shows a good balance. If drinking today, give it a few hours (2-3) in a decanter. I feel there is still some upwards potential and would give it 3 years more before tasting again (from half-bottles - full bottles longer).

The perfume on the nose is really beautiful - a spicy fruit basket. The palate is still a touch rough and needs more time - 3-5 years in the half-bottle - but decanting can help open it up if enjoyed today. Next bottle towards 2023 and parallel match with Sassicaia 2009.
