Sunday, March 28, 2010 - Pop and pour, which I think was a mistake because this did not show quite as well as previous bottles that I have decanted but it was still quite good. Big, dark, pretty concentrated. Lots of dark fruits, blackberry, blueberry, plum, mocha, and coffee. The oak is there but does not stick out, and will integrate with some additional time in the bottle. Soft on the palate with good mouthfeel and weight. Not incredibly complex now and it will be interesting to see where this goes in 3, 5, 10 years. I think it will easily last 10 years and will be quite enjoyable. I can see how many people think this is overdone. It is not an elegant CA Cabernet. Fun to drink!
