Sunday, August 29, 2010 - Decanted and then drank over about 90 mins. While I would have wanted to let this sit for a few hours, fate claimed it too soon! Very dark color, quite purple and lending to black. Some of the whole cluster still infuses the aromatics. Delicious iron, dark berry, a hint of funk and saddle and slightly chalky quality, along with some nice decadence but not sweet. This really showed well and I'll vote a forward look by saying this wine seemed even to be a bit closed and with more time, if it unwinds out some more, this could turn into a head turner of a CA syrah.
