Saturday, July 21, 2012 - Deep, dark ruby to purple color. Blackberries, licorice, smoked meat, pepper, blueberry, dried herbs, and dark chocolate on the very nice and inviting nose. Medium to dull body with solid, ripe tannins and very nice acidity. Spicy fruit with a nice meaty presence on the palate with more pepper and some earthiness coming in later. Nice lingering finish which again highlights the meaty elements with chocolate and fruit in the background. Very nice and impressive.
