Saturday, February 13, 2016 - Dark reddish purple. Intense blackberry rock candy, dark cassis compote, tar/charcoal and white pepper on the nose. Full bodied, spherical, thick and chewy in the mouth with gobs of ripe and stewed small black fruits, savory pan drippings, low acidity, dissolving tannins with a long, fruity/charcoal tinged finish. This wine is not shy and is best drunk next to a burning fireplace on a winter's day.
