Friday, June 19, 2009 - BYO tasting (My place): Dark red color with a slightly orange hue. Very complex and intense nose with notes of cherries, tomatoes, meat, smoke, iron and olives. Equally exciting on the palate with nuances of chalk, charcuterie, smoked meat and sausages, juicy cherries and olives. On the midpalate it gains in elegance with more notes such as iron and viols, before picking up some oak and vanilla sweetness on the very long finish. Superbly balanced and wildly intense. Drinking absolutely perfect now.
