92 Points

Friday, March 25, 2016 - This was allowed to stand open for four hours, and a few glasses worth were kept overnight. On opening, classic roses and a bit of eucalyptus on the nose. On the palate, this showed roses, raspberries, currants, and a bit of earthiness, with strong tannins and good acidity on the medium finish, but it seemed closed down, with somewhat muted fruit. On the second day this had gained noticeably in intensity, with powerful red fruit, the tannins more in evidence, and a longer finish. This is drinkable enough as it is, but it needs ten years or more to reach its peak.
