Friday, November 23, 2012 - Young and requires decanting but even that doesn't iron out the harshness in full which unfortunately is dry tannin from the oak.The nose is very cabernet like, with spice, leather, dark fruit, light floral. The oak is present too. On the palate, away from the dry tannin on the finish, the wine is pretty solid, good density, good ripe fruit and texture. The good news here is that the wine is not overdone to the 11. The extraction and oak are there but so is the purity and texture of fruit. Very super tuscan yes, very overdone no. 90 and hope that age will impove this.
