Friday, May 3, 2013 - this is classic brunello. showing some age on the edges with a wonderful beautiful nose of ripe cherry and plum. on the palate this wine is velvety, earthy and has a hint of spice. Nice acidity level and velvety tannins. I popped this bottle tonite after i saw the drinking window on cellar tracker of 2003-2008. i thought to myself there's no way this wine is over the hill, these brunello's will last and last (most of them) - you just have to be open to the softening tannins and secondary aromas as they age and change. based on previous reviews, this wine somewhat misunderstood and under appreciated in my opinion. There's another 5 years of quality drinking left here.
