92 Points

Tuesday, February 10, 2009 - Decanted and aired for 45-60 minutes. I actually opened both a magnum and two 750s and the magnum was just slightly superior (more fruit and vibrancy) to either of the 750s. Definitely a bordeaux-style wine from California. It was very dark colored but without much nose. Medium weight with good structure and balance. Boysenberry flavors dominate with some coffee, earth and oak in the background. Slightly drying, integrated tannins and a medium finish. Smooth mouthfeel with just enough complexity and elegance to make it very interesting and enjoyable. Drinking very well right now and probably has several years of life remaining.
