Monday, December 9, 2013 - Light ruby color with a bit of brick. Extremely earthy nose with some roasted meet and mineral notes. Air adds considerable depth as sweet dark Pinot fruit notes emerge. This wine builds on the palate - initially lean, sixty minutes of air produces a tough and rugged middle weight burgundy with admirable tension. I like this a good bit but need to be in the mood for this style. (90)
