Wednesday, August 10, 2011 - Definitely not a 93 point wine, but if you let it open up, the fruit expands on the palate and the dusty tannins are well integrated. To me, the big difference between this and a 93 point wine is the quality and complexity of the fruit (the fruit here is somewhat muted with more of a a raisiny character) and the shortness of the finish. The character of the tannins and the balance are more akin to what you would find in a much more expensive wine. Don't wirte it off when you open it and pour. Let it open up, and you will see definite improvement.
