Sunday, March 17, 2013 - A very fine wine. The bouquet is straight construction site, concrete, asphalt, sawdust, welded metals, and much more. The palate gives this away as New Worldish and Malbec heavy, which immediately puts the mind to Argentina; still, it is one of the three best Malbec blends I've had. It features great structure and pleasant fruit. The construction site nose transitions to a very nice terroir component which suggests a collaboration with an Old World producer.

I thought the assemblage could have benefitted from a greater proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, or perhaps Merlot, but I think that about almost all Malbec blends from Argentina. It was consumed beside a 2008 Fidelitas Champoux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon which is a better wine, but this managed to hold its own. The QPR is just ok. Wines of equal quality can be had for less than half the price of this one.
