Saturday, January 8, 2011 - Decanted about an hour - and it needed it. Pretty tight at first, this opened up to beautiful aromatics of dark fruit, subtle spice, tobacco, and earth. Rustic, yet nuanced. Fine, integrated tannins and a fairly lengthy finish. Fantastic expression of Sangiovese. This producer is very close to Montalcino. Crazy good for $17. Much more than a pizza or pasta wine. Glad I have one more. Will drink nicely for another 3-4 years.
