Opened for several hours. Color of ruby with medium appearance. Aromas of hazelnut, roasted herbs, chalk and black cherry. Pleasant black cherry and raspberry notes on the palate with underlying chalky and earth notes backed with very subtle notes of espresso. Smooth in feel with balanced acids and round tannins along with a juicy finish of long fruit notes. Drinking well.

Decanted about an hour - and it needed it. Pretty tight at first, this opened up to beautiful aromatics of dark fruit, subtle spice, tobacco, and earth. Rustic, yet nuanced. Fine, integrated tannins and a fairly lengthy finish. Fantastic expression of Sangiovese. This producer is very close to Montalcino. Crazy good for $17. Much more than a pizza or pasta wine. Glad I have one more. Will drink nicely for another 3-4 years.

Dark red color with hints of purple. Plum, cherry, a little bit of earth on the nose. After a few minutes in the glass, a mildly tannic palate with more plum and dark cherry components, more new world than old world but not without character. Short to medium finish. This is enjoyable though not especially complex. For the price, it would be a good wine to serve at a party.

Chez Trattoria Gargani à Florence. Excellent mais à carafer 1h au moins. Très belles notes tertiaires, terrible sur une bistecca alla fiorentina.
