92 Points

Thursday, December 27, 2007 - Tasting Group Dinner w/ Jeb Dunnuck (Heartland, St. Paul): Opened 6 hours before pouring. Very dark purple color. Gingerbread and molasses on the nose. The palate explodes with sweet, super-ripe, concentrated BIG dark fruit. Very modern styled, showing a fair amount of oak, low acid, and not much tannin. Lushly textured. With some air, this settled down and some of the overt sugary flavors began to integrate. I have several of these in the cellar, and I can't wait to see how this wine evolves over the next several years.
