Saturday, December 8, 2012 - Beyond a Birthday dinner! (The Papies, Elizabeth St, London): Very different this time than 2 months ago when we had it last. This time it was bigger , sweeter and with less of that lovely balanced smoky feel we loved (rated 96 in October 2012).
Colour points to burgundy but that is as close as it comes. Still an interesting experience, full on strawberry notes, oak notes and sings out of the glass. Quite a bit of alcohol on the nose too and as time wet by it became more dominating. On the palate it is big, with a sweet core, 15,7% alcohol, density of fruit from start to finish. Quite a bit of heat on the finish. Very SQN. 93 this time
