Monday, February 11, 2013 - Like so many wines I enjoyed this wine much more on day 2, and it really should be of no surprise considering the style of this wine and circumstances in which it was consumed on day 1. Yesterday I pulled it from the cellar popped and poured and drank it w/ burgers from the grill. It was probably too cold and didn't have enough time to breath, but the one thing that stuck which I really didn't like was a smoke factor. Day 2 was a completely different story, the smoke was pretty much gone and the flavor profile was filled with layers I didn't pick up on day 1. It's a big wine as one would expect, very dark, full bodied, smooth tannins, a nice wine I would purchase again.
