Like so many wines I enjoyed this wine much more on day 2, and it really should be of no surprise considering the style of this wine and circumstances in which it was consumed on day 1. Yesterday I pulled it from the cellar popped and poured and drank it w/ burgers from the grill. It was probably too cold and didn't have enough time to breath, but the one thing that stuck which I really didn't like was a smoke factor. Day 2 was a completely different story, the smoke was pretty much gone and the flavor profile was filled with layers I didn't pick up on day 1. It's a big wine as one would expect, very dark, full bodied, smooth tannins, a nice wine I would purchase again.

PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark purple color. On the nose, vanilla and blueberry notes. On the palate, meaty and fruity. Blueberry and blackberry flavors. Fruit forward, but chewy on the palate. Not my style. 88- pts. Aloha!

Deep purple color. Sweet black and blue fruit on nose and palate with just enough pepper & spice to let you know it's syrah. Good mouthfeel. Medium finish. One-dimensional but well done, and great QPR.

Well. It is wine. My over whelming impression was Vicks Formula 44D. In the event that this wine was indicative of Syrah - I would never buy another bottle of Syrah again. Fortunately, I'm aware that it's not.

Opened and let breathe for about 2 hours before tasting. Lots of vanilla and oak on the nose, with some cherry pie and dark plum thrown in. The palate is dominated by vanilla bean, sweet dark fruits, blackberry, fig, and more oak. A bit thin, but it ends with a nice long finish with some lingering notes of dark berries and some spice. This was leaning more towards a Zin than your typical Syrah, with more fruit coming through than spice. Good value, and definitely a crowd pleaser

Consistent with previous note, but more settled and more complex. All the omph of an aussie shiraz but with complexity grace and elegance. Awesome stuff!

Decanted 1 hour: Dark plum color with magenta edge tints, and quick, thin legs. On the nose heavy vanilla oak, extra dark chocolate, medicinal and a touch of blackberry. The palate showcases coffe, blackberry, slight blueberry with vanilla oak and a slightly bitter finish. A little dissappointed in the fruit, but I can see why the american market loves this wine.

This is a very jammy, new world Syrah. On the nose loads of cherries and raspberry and spice along with a hint of menthol. The mouth feel is medium bodied, the wine coats your mouth. The palate is very jammy, lots of cherries, spice and pepper with some almost cigar tobacco after tones and a very slight hint of vanilla oak. Because of its dominant taste profile this wine needs to be drank by itself, probably too over powering for most foods. For $17 a good buy and a good wine.

good stuff. I have two words to describe this wine: spicy fig. It is big, zippy, with wonderful fruit. Medium body. for ~$18, this is a very nice syrah. right up there with the QPR of thier Zin. Will buy more.

I will join the chorus on this one. I think it brings alot of deep dark rich fruit to the dance. It's great stuff, but I could seem some thinking this is borderline cough medicine. I found it smoky and with some gamey flavors, that I enjoy. I think this bottle offers solid qPR.

Big scorched earth right up front on the nose, almost turns into fresh asphalt or tar. This is like a big hunk of smoked meat, flirting with dark berry fruit and baking spices. Maple syrup? Sausage? Like a bottle of breakfast.

A little odd. Intensely smoky, charry, chocolatey, and slightly less intensly pepper. Blackberry fruit. But interesting, at least, distinctive, and I thought it was even enjoyable.

Dark dense purple with crimson slightly pinkish rim. Beefy gamey aroma with touch of smoky jammy blueberry. Rich mouth feel smoky plum and black and blue berry, long smoky finish. Lots going on. Could use more time or decanting. Super QPR.

Love this wine! We opened one last night for "Girl's Night In". It's so smooth & jammy, just really fun to drink alone or sip on with food. For this quality it's a steal. Stems up!

Decanted through a vinturri and conusmed immediately. Dark ruby color, fruit forward, oaky vanilla nose. Ripe Black and blue fuits with vanilla and oak flavors. Very one dimensional, and over-oaked, tasty initially, but becomes tedious after a glass or so..

Popped 'n poured at a restaurant, and didn't appear to need decanting. Very nice fruit, with a vanilla/oak component. Completely agree with WS. Ready to drink now. A real crowd pleaser.

Nice body, silky on the palate, but lacking the peppery notes of typical Syrah. Smooth and easy drinker with notes of prune, cooked blackberries, vanilla, chocolate and hazelnut. Not bad, but lacking complexity. The Old Vine Zin from Klinker Brick is a much better choice.
