Sunday, May 10, 2015 - Wine is about 3-4 years from peak. Wine poured a slight violet color in the glass with a little mild haziness. Wine wasn't too expressive in the bottle, but once it was out of the bottle, it smelled like a Cali cab with some aged blackberry and some earthy funk. On the palate is more of an old world, aged SuperTuscan wine. Blackberry and licorice on the front, with power and intensity. Hint of earthy funk all the way through. The middle is spice, grilled meat... and turned rather dark. Finished with a fine grit tannin and blackberry. Made in an old world style. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this one. Usually we move on to another, but we stopped at this one and called it good. POWER, and LONG. Wow....I wish I had 12 more of these, but this was my only one. Drink window 2013-2024.
