Wednesday, December 13, 2006 - I drink this wine at least six times per year. Different vintage are remakably similar, but the 2004 has an unusual flavor profile--the body is more full, with a silkier feel. It's also spicier, with strong pepper notes. The expected dark fruit notes are there, but unfortunately veer into sourness, which kind of ruins it for me. Normally I rate these 87-89, this one is penalized for sour flavors, then raised a notch for silkiness.
