P&P dark opaque red-purple-black pleasant velvety aromas of dark fruits with spicy notes - quite a surprise for a cheap wine at this advanced age soft round integrated tannins, still with powerful fruity-spicy flavours, smooth, silky, very enjoyable, dark fruits, oak-vanilla, soft spices, pleasant short finish. excellent value for money.

I cant believe Im about to write this about a cheap general listing shiraz, but here goes: what a shock?! This is a very decent wine. Decanted for 30 min, cork was black, and lots of tannin left at the bottom of the bottle. Colour has clarified to a very nice ruby/ garnet. It had a very nice fruity nose, good but more relaxed fruit than when drunk within the first couple years. I usually find young shirazs too much up front, but this has settled down nicely. This had nice, but not overpowering hints of cherry, vanilla, and buttery cream. Tannins have all integrated nicely and this wine has become very very smooth. Subtle and slightly oily finish. This is drinking perfectly now but probably has another couple years left. Frankly, i think this wine should be rated much higher than the average here suggests. I think people are biased by the fact that it is pretty much a cheap wine, as was I, and score it accordingly. I think most would add 5 points to it if you slapped a different label on it. Just happened to find it sitting in the cellar by accident and said what the heck. Wow, was i surprised. I now wish I had bought a case or two for the 10 bucks this stuff cost. Not very complex, but at this price, you could buy several cases and age it for 8 to 10 years and very much enjoy it as an everyday wine that will rival wines at 5 times the price in my opinion.
As a value, this is absolutely excellent.

Not half bad. Simple, but cannot be faulted. Nose showed meat and plums. Modern palate, pepper, alcohol, blueberry, prunes. All very plush, decent balance. Finished a touch bittersweet.

How can a wine be soft yet over-extracted at the same time; somehow this one manages it -- v. reedy finish, and no real structure, but it goes down easy; won't buy more at $5, but I've had worse at five times the price; not one to hold and hope it improves

Dark plum, inky. I would say a bit improved from the last time. Still a smooth, easy drink that never really "firms" up once opened. I found raspberry and black cherry across the palate, but still miss the spice. Medium body and finish. Drinks well for an every day wine.

Deep purple colored Shiraz. Lots of fruit and accessible. Little tannins present. A bit too weet for my taste. Easy drinking with more depth than other inexpensive Australian Shiraz that I have tasted.

I'm stuck indoors tonight because we're having an ice storm. Decided to grill a nice steak with a peppery, mustard crust and opened this bottle. Wow! I'm pretty impressed for the price. This one was part of a gift basket I got from a friend for my birthday back in October and I would definitely go out and buy another bottle for the price. It's very thick and rich, opaque dark red. It has a slight peppery, but not overwelming, middle and a smooth finish. I thought it would be more tannic for a 2004. What did I know? It was perfect with the food!!

I drank this with friends at a dinner and since I have had it at least four times total I would say it is worth buying. It is a great wine for its price point, and I would rate between 82-87

Very nice every day drinker at less than $10 a bottle. Nice dark garnet/purple color, much prettier and bolder than the pre-dinner Pinot we drank before this bottle. Inky black flavor, smoke, some tar and leather in the background. Held up well paired with the thin crust chicken/roma pizza we ate with it. Very nice.

The nose was very pleasant on this one, very fruity, giving way to smoke with a deeper breath. Medium body with blueberry and herb flavors. Clean long finish with a fresh cut grass sort of taste. Over all a decient bottle of wine.

Color is dark garnet/purple. Nose reveals smoky, meaty plum, with a hint of blackberry. On the palate, chewy plum, blackberry, and licorice with soft tannin.

Nice fruit and spice aroma and taste. A bit harsh, but all in all a very nice wine for the price. Finish was very short. Rosemount always is a pretty safe bet. Never had a "bad" bottle.

I drink this wine at least six times per year. Different vintage are remakably similar, but the 2004 has an unusual flavor profile--the body is more full, with a silkier feel. It's also spicier, with strong pepper notes. The expected dark fruit notes are there, but unfortunately veer into sourness, which kind of ruins it for me. Normally I rate these 87-89, this one is penalized for sour flavors, then raised a notch for silkiness.

This is a great "every day" drinking wine. Deep red in the glass with a nice fruit forwarded nose. Medium to full bodied with ripe flavours of blackberry, plum, cassis and a touch of vanilla from the oak. Fruity and decent finish. Drinking very well right now and a great QPR for 9€.

Hard to do better for $9. Lush, fruit forward shiraz. Dark red and black fruit with a touch of molasses, leather, and enough pepper and bite to keep it real. Winter dinner party ready. (Taking this one down now with a bone-in center cut portk chop off the grill).

Plenty of fruit in the nose. Simple in texture and structure but smooth and easy to drink. Medium body but the finish wasn't complete. I found no real spice to this Aussie Shiraz, but then its only an $8 bottle. Nice everyday wine, would be good for entertaining as well. Both easy to drink and appealing to a wide spectrum of palates.

Excellent for the price. Probably drinking it too early, but I have another bottle. Very fruiting, but mild and well-balanced compared to other cheap shiraz wines. Dark plum color, sweet nose. Not that spicy.

Got on sale for $3 off so tried it; had tag saying consistently ranked over 90pts by various trade magazines. I didn't think it warrented a 90+ myself; had slight sourness to it and not very fruity compared to other australian shiraz. Generally OK.

This is a rich garnet, opaque red, with some tearing down the glass. The smell is moderately fruity with hints of cherry, raspberry and pepper/spice. Taste is medium- to full-bodied and velvety, slightly "chewy". Spice and mellow fruit flavours dominate, with lots of structure that is not overbearing. The acidity and sugars are well blended, medium-strength tannins dominate and are sustained at the end for a nice mellow, long finish. After breathing for an hour or so, the tannins soften nicely and make this an easy-drinking wine with enough "oomf" to be savoured on its own, or stand up to grilled meat or a cheese platter. Great value at around $8 and one of the most popular wines at a wine tasting I held.
