Monday, December 25, 2023 - Drinking wonderfully now. Still a dark purple core, turning into a lighter magenta towards the rim. On the nose there’s sweet cassis, earth, and a touch of menthol. It’s lively on the palate, showing blackberry jam, some slight raspberry notes, with plenty more earth and some spice. The tannins are noticeable but definitely fading, with a long finish and well balanced acidity. Upon opening, there more alcohol than anticipated, which suggests this has plenty more life to it, and it wouldn’t be the worst idea to give it some air before enjoying.
