Two hour decant and drank over two nights. Excellent nose. Casis, with a bit of red fruits and plenty of cigar box. It’s more restrained on the palate than I was expecting. Plenty of fruit, though it’s held in check with chocolate, leather, and a touch of stone. The acidity is perfectly judged and the tannins are beautifully balanced. I’d give this wine a few more years to develop the depth I’d expect from a bottle at this price range, but I imagine it will be well worth the wait.

One of the most unique wines I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. That said, I’m not entirely sure what to make of it. It certainly seems past it’s prime, and yet, it’s not bad by any means. An incredibly unique nose with plenty of hay and an almost saline like quality. A bit of air still coaxes out a blend of dried fruits, and rich tannin on the palate. I’m withholding a score, simply because I’m not sure it fits exactly on a scale, but it was still an excellent experience.

A dark, almost inky wine. The nose has sweet cherries, a touch of mint, and some earth. The palate is fruit driven, but not overly so. There’s some cedar there as well. The tannins have some power and the acidity is well judged. It lacks the complexity or depth that might push it into the next tier of wines, but still offers good QPR. A few more years of bottle age will help, but I’d recommend a decent either way. A good amount of sediment in the bottle. 46% Cab, 34% Merlot, 16% Syrah, and 4% Cab Franc.
