Monday, December 15, 2014 - Tar, black earth, light black pepper, and a hint of oak on the nose. Spices appear after more exposure with white pepper predominant. On the palate cherry, raspberry, tobacco, light earth. Still reasonably strong acid. Opens as approachable yet firm but quickly softened over the course of two hours. A solid wine when one encounters a good bottle, this one still had more time ahead of it.
