Saturday, June 28, 2008 - I'm surprised to see it's been almost a year since the last bottle. This one opens up considerably faster than those from last year, but still benefits from some decant. Dark nose with cedar, sweet spice and a hint of tar. Quite weighty on the palate, long finish. A bit of grit on the end probably reflects my poor bottle treatment (stored upside down for stacking). Should stand up the last bottles for several days prior to opening. Even better the second day.
