90 Points

Saturday, June 7, 2008 - Another nice showing for this old favorite, with lots of those savory roasted cherries complemented by some nice aromatic complexity in the form of baking spices and caramel. This bottle still seems to be a little bit young somehow, as it improved so much during the hours it was open, suggesting it still had gobs of life ahead. Not quite on the Richebourg-La Tache level (also had a 1998 Richebourg from Denis Mugneret that was the WOTN), but an excellent Grand Cru nevertheless. Drink or hold.
