Sunday, December 30, 2007 - A Night of Chateauneuf in Edina, MN (Edina Country Club): I tasted this wine at a CdP offline on 12/30/2007, in Edina, MN. (All wines were tasting blind, in a random order)
This wine got better in the glass. I would have liked to have come back to this one at the end of the night, but there was none left in the bottle.
NOSE: funky! earthy; hint of brett; secondary aromas of fig and sour cherry peak through this classic CdP nose
BODY: considerable sediment suspended in the wine; medium bodied.
TASTE: Initially, too much brett for my taste, but this very gradually blew off in the glass; earthy; fruits are there, but secondary (mostly fig, a hint of plum); short finish. This is a nice CdP, but seems to be holding back right now. I would sit on this for a few years.
