Monday, April 4, 2011 - Tight, structured and balanced. Overall profile would have suggested a high elevation site to me, but I guess that's not the case. The slightest touch of green in the background blows off with minimal air. This is more masculine/structured than some that I put in the "balanced" category, and will reward some rest in the cellar. Right now, equal parts fruit, acid and tannins. I'll put the rest of these away for 5+ years before revisiting. My first vintage of this, and I'm sure it won't be my last. Excellent value assuming it ages the way I think it might. For now, 91-92 points for current drinking. I could see it hitting 95 points with time.
