Monday, December 5, 2005 - Wow - this was great Pinot! The nose had a sweet element that I couldn't place, but that was really seductive. In addition there were nice notes of cherry and some earth. On the palate this wine had plenty of acid, but not so much as to keep it from being immediately accessible and enjoyable, allowing the red fruits (cherry and maybe blueberry?) to show through. After 90+ minutes and as the wine warmed up, it showed some more meaty/earthy/funky tones. Went awesome with a pork loin roast covered in orange/honey/teriyaki sauce.
