Wednesday, September 19, 2012 - I tasted this wine for the first time at a Le Sorbet tasting (in 2009?), and it was the wine that first got me excited about Blair's wines. This wine continues to excite me. Popped and poured. At first it comes across as massively ripe and even tropical with some baking spice. Flavors transition to more classic Chablis character of apple and Meyer lemon with plenty of acidity and oyster shell. Long, energetic finish. I think this is at its peak and given the ripe character, probably will drink what I own by 2016.

Day 2 was actually better than yesterday. The ripe fruit character came across as less tropical and just more dense and concentrated, with some botrytis background hints.
