Monday, February 24, 2014 - The 2007 Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri Sassicaia Sassicaia is medium purple in colour with a sweet nose of prunes, juicy black currants, purple berries and Chinese herbs.

Very soft and round entry of sweetness; predominantly prunes, juicy black currants before a midpalate of herbs follows backed with consistent blueberries. Velvety texture of tannins. "Fluffy" and pleasant. Very focused in style despite its softness and broadness that coats the palate. Overall elegant and balanced, deceiving one to think it may be rather "thin", but in fact, its a wine that is rather refined in nature.

Quite a bit of sediments for its age!
