Sunday, October 18, 2015 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, aerated into glasses; drank 2+ glasses over 90 minutes. The nose is really quite nice showing off the pretty black currants and brambly berries first with plenty of spice and hints of tobacco leaf. The palate is full bodied, with well layered darker fruit; black currant, boysenberry, red cherry, and hints of blackberry liqueur; spice, tobacco, and hints of vanillin on a medium finish. The structure and balance are good, with pleasant well proportioned medium grained tannins. The oak is fairly well integrated now. This drinks well now and should resolve even further over the next 2 years and drink for a couple more. Nice.
