I haven't had many higher-end Merlots, but this is by far the best Merlot I've ever tasted. Wonderful high-pitched fruit/floral nose and taste that I think of as "blue" -- blueberries and violet, along with earth/dust. Intense but also very smooth. I guess it's nearing the end of its drinking window, but I still wish I had more -- lots more.
