  We drank this at home on 6/6/10. I thought I had already left a tasting note, but obviously not. I haven't had many higher-end Merlots, but this is by far the best Merlot I've ever tasted. Wonderful high-pitched fruit/floral nose and taste that I think of as "blue" -- blueberries and violet, along with earth/dust. Intense but also very smooth. I guess it's nearing the end of its drinking window, but I still wish I had more -- lots more.

  Not a fruit bomb, but still a nice and interesting bottle of wine. No real defects. Not sure where Spectator got an 80 for this.
