Saturday, December 4, 2010 - Charvin Chateauneufs (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): what an amazing wine. the nose is intoxicating, with meat, anise, rhubarb, cherry. this is so rich on the palate, but it has these smooth tannins and this lively, juicy fruit. rich currants, anise and spice with a long finish. WS says the drinking window is until 2030, but i think this is a wine to drink in the next two or three years. showing perfectly right now. in its prime.
