Tuesday, March 23, 2010 - 2000 Margaux Tasting Dinner (5 wines) (New Buffalo, Michigan): First time trying this vintage. WS gave this 2nd wine of Chateau Margaux a big 94 point score. Decanted 2 hours. I have a 375ml in my cellar that I will continue to hold. Black licorice on the nose with cedar and caraway. This had a smooth texture. Milky fruit (but not much of it) and wet earth notes. The firm tannins prevented this wine from showing much. One taster scored this his favorite but I thought it was closed and was not showing as well as it could. 89 points now but 92+ on potential.
