Saturday, January 21, 2023 - Opened, immediately decanted for light sediment, and poured. Light tawny/garnet color but no browning. Some early VA and balsam wood on the nose, then gentle red fruit and spice with late celery stalk and pepperiness that stuck out a bit. Light to medium bodied, quite silky in the mouth. Subtly sweet, plummy fruit that is amazing for its age, brisk citric acidity, cinnamon, and some bitter chocolate richness at the end without any tannin to get in the way of a graceful fading finish. I've had remarkable luck with these bottles over the years, and this one lasted well over 2 hours and was every bit as good as one back in 2017.
